101114 Joseph’s Pilgrimage 요셉의 순례기

Joseph’s life story is similar to “The Pilgrim’s Progress”

요셉의 인생여정은 천로역정과 유사하다.

*Where and when was he born?

그는 어디서 언제 태어났나?

Ge창 30:25 After Rachel gave birth to Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, "Send me on my way so I can go back to my own homeland.

라헬이 요셉을 낳았을 때에 야곱이 라반에게 이르되 나를 보내어 내 고향 나의 땅으로 가게 하시되

V.28 He added, "Name your wages, and I will pay them."

또 이르되 네 품삯을 정하라 내가 그것을 주리라

Joseph was born in Paddan Aram about 6 years before his family returned to Canaan.

요셉은 그의 가족들이 가나안으로 돌아오기 6년전쯤 밧단 아람에서 났다.

*Why did his brothers hate Joseph?

왜 형님들이 요셉을 미워하게 되었을까?

Ge 창37:20 Come now, let's kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we'll see what comes of his dreams."

자, 그를 죽여 한 구덩이에 던지고 우리가 말하기를 악한 짐승이 그를 잡아먹었다 하자 그의 꿈이 어떻게 되는지를 우리가 볼 것이니라 하는지라

v.7 We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it."

우리가 밭에서 곡식 단을 묶더니 내 단은 일어서고 당신들의 단은 내 단을 둘러서서 절하더이다

v.9 "I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me."

요셉이 다시 꿈을 꾸고 그의 형들에게 말하여 이르되 내가 또 꿈을 꾼즉 해와 달과 열한 별이 내게 절하더이다 하니라

*How old was Joseph when he was sold by his brothers?

형님들에게 팔린때 요셉은 몇 살이나 되었을까?

Ge 37:2 This is the account of Jacob. Joseph, a young man of seventeen, was tending the flocks with his brothers, the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives, and he brought their father a bad report about them.

야곱의 족보는 이러하니라 요셉이 십칠 세의 소년으로서 그의 형들과 함께 양을 칠 때에 그의 아버지의 아내들 빌하와 실바의 아들들과 더불어 함께 있었더니 그가 그들의 잘못을 아버지에게 말하더라

*Who sold Joseph to Potiphar?

보디발에게 요셉을 판 사람은 누구일까?

Ge창37:36 Meanwhile, the Midianites sold Joseph in Egypt to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh's officials, the captain of the guard.

그 미디안 사람들은 그를 애굽에서 바로의 신하 친위대장 보디발에게 팔았더라

Ishmaelites and Midianites are all Joseph’s relatives(children of Abraham).

이스마엘 자손이나 미디안 사람도 다 아브라함의 자손으로 요셉의 친척들이다.

But they bought and sold Joseph for money! 돈버는 일이라면 친척 요셉을 사고 팔았다.

*Joseph was a channel of blessing;

보디발의 집에서도 요셉은 축복의 통로였다.

Ge창39:5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph.

그가 요셉에게 자기의 집과 그의 모든 소유물을 주관하게 한 때부터 여호와께서 요셉을 위하여 그 애굽 사람의 집에 복을 내리시므로 여호와의 복이 그의 집과 밭에 있는 모든 소유에 미친지라

His dream came true yet? 이제 요셉의 꿈이 현실로 되었는가?(장관집의 가정총리로 출세했으니)

*Why was Joseph put in prison?

왜 요셉이 감옥에 가게 되었나?

Ge창 39:9

No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"

이 집에는 나보다 큰 이가 없으며 주인이 아무것도 내게 금하지 아니하였어도 금한 것은 당신뿐이니 당신은 그의 아내임이라 그런즉 내가 어찌 이 큰 악을 행하여 하나님께 죄를 지으리이까

Some people may be arrested for crime Joseph was trapped because he refused the seduction of the Potiphar’s wife.

죄를 짓고 투옥되는 사람도 있지만 요셉은 죄짓지 않으려고 보디바의 아내의 유혹을 거절하다가 오히려 함정에 빠졌다.

*He was successful even in prison.

그는 감옥에서도 성공했다.

Ge창39:22,23 So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph's care, because the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did

간수장이 옥중 죄수를 다 요셉의 손에 맡기므로 그 제반 사무를 요셉이 처리하고 간수장은 그의 손에 맡긴 것을 무엇이든지 살펴보지 아니하였으니 이는 여호와께서 요셉과 함께 하심이라 여호와께서 그를 범사에 형통하게 하셨더라

*He trusted the LORD even in jail.

감옥에 가서도 그는 하나님을 신뢰하기를 계속했다.

Ge 창40:8 "We both had dreams," they answered, "but there is no one to interpret them." Then Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams."

그들이 그에게 이르되 우리가 꿈을 꾸었으나 이를 해석할 자가 없도다 요셉이 그들에게 이르되 해석은 하나님께 있지 아니하니이까 청하건대 내게 이르소서

*He glorified God in front of Pharaoh.

바로왕 앞에서도 하나님께 영광을 돌렸다.

Ge 창41:16 "I cannot do it," Joseph replied to Pharaoh, "but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires."

요셉이 바로에게 대답하여 이르되 내가 아니라 하나님께서 바로에게 편안한 대답을 하시리이다

*Now his dreams have come true.

이제야 그의 꿈이 이루어 졌다.

Ge창41:41~43

So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt."

Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph's finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command, and men shouted before him, "Make way !" Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.

바로가 또 요셉에게 이르되 내가 너를 애굽 온 땅의 총리가 되게 하노라 하고 자기의 인장 반지를 빼어 요셉의 손에 끼우고 그에게 세마포 옷을 입히고 금 사슬을 목에 걸고 자기에게 있는 버금 수레에 그를 태우매 무리가 그의 앞에서 소리 지르기를 엎드리라 하더라 바로가 그에게 애굽 전국을 총리로 다스리게 하였더라

*How was he able to forgive his brothers, Potiphar’s wife, and the cup-bearer?

원수같은 형님들, 보디발의 아내,술맡은 관원장을 어떻게 용서할수 있었을까?

Ge창50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

당신들은 나를 해하려 하였으나 하나님은 그것을 선으로 바꾸사 오늘과 같이 만민의 생명을 구원하게 하시려 하셨나니

Joseph was able to forgive them because he always trusted God’s providence!

요셉이 원수들을 용서할수 있었던것은 하나님의 섭리를 믿기 때문이다.

*He trusted God’s promise till death.

죽는 순간에도 요셉은 하나님의 약속을 굳게 믿었다.

Ge창50:24,25 Then Joseph said to his brothers, "I am about to die. But God will surely come to your aid and take you up out of this land to the land he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob." And Joseph made the sons of Israel swear an oath and said, "God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up from this place."

요셉이 그 형제에게 이르되 나는 죽으나 하나님이 너희를 권고하시고 너희를 이 땅에서 인도하여 내사 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 맹세하신 땅에 이르게 하시리라 하고 요셉이 또 이스라엘 자손에게 맹세시켜 이르기를 하나님이 정녕 너희를 권고하시리니 너희는 여기서 내 해골을 메고 올라가겠다 하라 하였더라

*It’s ironical that his brothers who sold him to Egypt were buried in Egypt but Joseph was buried in the Promised Land.

요셉은 약속의 땅에 묻혔고 그를 애급에 판 형제들은 도리어 애급에 묻혀 있다는 사실이 역사의 아이로니이다.

*Like Joseph, we were slaves to sin but God saved and upgraded us to children of God.

요셉처럼 우리도 죄의 종노릇 하다가 하나님의 자녀로 신분 상승 해 주셨다.

*Joseph is also a symbol of our savior Jesus as he, Joseph, was sold at 20 pieces of silver and he saved his family and all the Egyptians from the great famine.

요셉은 기근에서 민족을 구원한것과 은20에 팔린것등이 예수님의 상징을 보여준다.

*Joseph’s pilgrimage encourage us in our pilgrimage course.
